This 1983 ad says “You’ll use Compuserve’s Electronic Mail System (we call it Email™) to compose, edit, and send letters to friends or business associates.” You also paid by the minute, PLUS long distance phone charges. This is part of a collection of ads for obsolete technology that we thought was the greatest thing since sliced bread …at the time. Link
